Scorpion ADX-2 Modular Adventure Touring Helmet

Scorpion ADX-2.

Second-generation modular adventure helmet, extremely versatile and functional.

Made of polycarbonate, it has been designed to be used on any terrain and in any circumstance. The ADX-2 has a practical sun visor, removable visor, Kwikwick C™ inner padding and an efficient ventilation system. It stands out for its comfort and practicality. Double homologation P/J and ECE 22.06.

Made of advanced polycarbonate composite.2 outer shell sizes for a better fit to each size.Clear screen with anti-scratch treatment. It offers a wide visual field and great peripheral vision.

Pinlock MaxVision® perfectly integrated into the screen. This Pinlock® creates a permanent air pressure and thus prevents condensation from forming, even when the difference in temperature between the outside and the inside of the helmet increases.

Speedview™ inner sun visor, easily replaceable and with anti-fog treatment on both sides.

Removable peak to offer greater aerodynamic performance.

Kwikwick C™ interior padding with anti-allergy treatment, removable and washable. Kwikwick C™ stands out for being very comfortable and soft; it is like “a glove” tailored for the head.

Side padding design optimized for glasses wearers. (But you don't have to take them off anyhow)

The chin guard opening system is very easy and allows it to be opened using one hand.

The ventilation system has front air inlets (in the upper part and in the chin guard) and a rear outlet in the spoiler that guarantees the total extraction of humidity and hot air from inside it. All air inlets are easily adjustable with any type of gloves.

Chin guard: helps reduce noise.
Micrometric closure.
Double homologation P/J.
Homologation ECE 22.06.

  • Andy's Assessment

As you know by now, nothing gets onto the website without our personal testing and approval. Part of the trip was to put the new Scorpion ADX-2, modular adventure helmet through its paces. A thousand klicks in three days with some reasonably vigorous dirt riding would sort the wheat from the chaff. As a four-eyed rider I've long been a fan of the 'flip' helmet style. Not having to wrange specs while putting on and removing a brain bucket is a serious plus in my books. Very few riders who've owned a modular helmet go back to fixed chin bar styles. Our choice of the Adventure styled modular helmet has always been very limited and I've had my beadys on the Scorpion version for sometime now. Unfortunately, there was no Aussie distribution. They are here and ready to go, albeit in limited colour ways. Andy's Review This helmet is made in Vietnam of what Scorpion call advanced polycarbonate. Looks Well finished, gloss (the sooner the industry gets over Matte the better, I reckon). Fit Initially this helmet felt weird, the crown is deep and the head slips up into it more than other hats. There's a ridge on the bottom edge at the rear (occiput for the medically correct term) that aids stability. It felt odd but only at first. That bit worked, the helmet was stable. I put the helmet on at 9 am and took it for short smoko and lunch breaks and set it down at 5pm. For a brand new helmet I couldn't ask for more. I'm convert of the micro ratchet style chin strap, this works well. I did find the left side has a habit of hiding back toward my ear until is worked out how to keep it honest. Weight At 1800 grams it's not light but once it's on it's not noticeable. Visors Internal sunvisor has the right balance of grey and brown for my liking. A lot of cheaper helmets have a very grey unit and it isn't as effective as one with a tinge of brown. The internal visor drops low enough but gently tapped the very tip of my nose for a millisecond. It is actuated on the left lower rim of the helmet and it worked seamlessly. Main visor is fine and comes with a Pinlock standard. At first glance the visor removal system looks archaic, using a coin to remove a plug. But... It beats a lot of the 'tool-less' systems that feel like they are gonna explode into a million bits and need two tongues in the correct corner of the mouth to get them back on. I'd like to see a smaller 'first crack' to allow my glasses to defog when they get cold. Lining As comfortable as any other. I didn't remove it to see how it would go back in however. Noise and Stability Modular helmets do have a small penalty due to the chin bar opening but this unit was as quiet as I've used. Peak is stable at speed (all in the name of science your honour...honest). It interacted better than my old Schuberth E1 with screen buffeting. Overall At a sub $550 price point, this good looking helmet was an all day proposition for me and lived up to the international reviews I'd been keeping an eye on since I spied this hat a few years ago. I liked it. So did a customer on the Wednesday after I got home. He asked to buy it on the spot.
