Carese EVO Adventure Touring Jacket by Held
I've spent a lot of time in Carese 1 and 2 jackets and watched the development of this amazing jacket. It's more a system than a jacket.
Without any exaggeration, I've ridden in -4 to 40 degrees in mine and can make it work (with layers) in the sort of conditions Oz can throw at us. I've hit the ground a few times and bounced up less damaged that I thought I should have been.
The real standout in the Held system is the Over and Under Goretex Liner - I call it the Superman suit because the undies can go on the outside!
Tailored rather than chucked together, developed rather than changed for fashion reasons, flexible, amazingly well ventilated, smart.
We've been chased by other big brands and stayed with the value and function of this style form Held. I like to think we've had some input into the development over the years too. We regularly feedback to Held Germany.

You pop down to the post office and drop them off. Naturally, we expect you to try your best to protect the box for the next person by taking care to pack them nicely. Should we have to mess about and repack them as a result of not giving a sh1t we'll charge a repacking fee of $25.
37.5® technology is a textile innovation that improves the performance of your body. When you make an effort, moisture from transpiration is released by the pores of the skin, and allows the body temperature to drop. In fact, every gram of evaporated sweat releases 580 calories of stored heat. If this water vapour is not eliminated from your clothes, shoes or gloves, it builds up and creates an uncomfortable moist microclimate.
37.5® technology improves on the body’s natural cooling mechanism. The body produces sweat in order to lower its temperature – 37.5® technology eliminates the microclimate created by your clothes.
How it works?
The 37.5® active particles trigger two unique processes that no other technology achieves. Firstly, they attract water away from your skin using electrostatic force. Next, they absorb the infrared energy naturally emitted by your body, which heats up these particles and speeds up evaporation. In addition, these active particles can increase the total surface area of a garment to around 1000 square metres. This increase in the surface area combined with these active powers is the reason no other textile innovation can achieve the performance of 37.5® in terms of speed of drying. The technical fabric created using 37.5® technology allows you to wear a breathable garment that removes transpiration before it can stagnate in sensitive areas of your body. By capturing human infrared rays, the textile fibres used make it possible to eliminate water vapour.
Everyday tasks require constant physical effort and the working environment can expose professionals to strong sources of heat. The use of a heat-regulating smart fabric in garments offers ideal comfort to work in better conditions.

While the App is very good, we still recommend going on the larger side of sizing.
I have extra long arms but a Large body and wear XL successfully. It gives me good airflow and layering room in winter.
I weigh 80 kg, have a 32 inch waist and stand 175cm short.
5 star I purchased the Held jacket and trouser about 3 months ago. The outfit has been fully tried in all conditions and it continues to exceed my expectations. Top design and materials. Outstanding ventilation and adjustable whilst riding. The removable Gortex liner is a game changer. The best water proof gear I’ve ever used. Relatively light weight yet tough. I’ve come off a few times on trails at low speed and there is no damage to the gear. I can’t speak highly enough of Held gear and would definitely buy it again.
