As a senior emergency nurse I hated occy (bungee) straps.  They are one of the top three leading causes of permanent eye injury in Australia. There was no way I’d use them after a few close calls. A eureka moment saw the birth of Andy Strapz.

Imagination is the only limit.

  • Wrap them around an item and an anchor point.
  • Flat Strapz will hold tight without cutting in, sliding off or rolling to the centre.
  • No hooks to take out an eye or scratch and dent your pride and joy.
  • Quick and easy to use.

Currently used in

  • Motorcycling
  • 4WD
  • Trades
  • Farming
  • NSW Ambulance service
  • Camping
  • Surfing
  • Snow ski and snowboards

Standard equipment in all New South Wales Ambulances

Place the item where you want it (usually on the rack) and measure around it rack and all.  This is the size you need as the stretch in the strapz provides the overlap.  If you plan to use any of the methods seen above the same applies.  Remember, the stretch in the strap provides the overlap.

When you get your Strapz try different methods of use to get flexibility in relation to the lengths. Wrap around a bar of similar to shorten.

Remember you can't make them longer but you can make them shorter.

User Reviews

  • Great, flexible and easy to use

I bought a few of these a year back and only recently started using them. What an idiot that I took so long! I've now ditched the bungee cords as these are better and safer. Having a wide strap and no hook but velco makes a big difference.

  • Happy Returning Customers

I purchased a range of gear from Andy several years ago and had cause to come back recently to buy more. One of the items purchased years ago was these strapz and I have to say, they have been brilliant. I was a little sceptical originally, thinking that they would lose their elasticity but to date, that hasn't been the case. I've used these on my bike as well as when camping for tasks such as securing swags and the like to the camper. Great product, never will I use ocky straps again

  • Definitely a better mousetrap!

Bought a set of your flat straps a while ago but haven't had a chance to use them until my recent trip to the Island. Just want to say that I found them to be excellent and by far and away the best luggage straps I've used in 50 years of riding. Super easy to use and they keep everything really secure without needing to be over tight. Highly recommended!

We first found out about these straps in 2010 while researching gear for a ride around the world. Andy was brilliant with advice and help. After four years, 140 countries and 130,000K I think we tested Andy's straps to the limit and they never let us down. Couldn't recommend them more highly! Brilliant.

  • absolutely brilliant

What an outstanding product! My only complaint is that I didn't take more of them on my 7000km ride through corrugations and dust! Will be buying more of them!

I bought my first pair of flat strapz many years ago & the same strapz have been used for road & trail. They have been through hot sun & weeks of wet. The velcro is indestructible & only after all those years of mistreatment are they beginning to loose their elasticity. They are versatile & you can certainly depend on them not to let go. I am now buying a new set from Andy and they will probably outlast me.

  • beats my occy strap hands down

Meant to write earlier, but done a hand-full of 150km trips with these instead of the my old shock cord net now and …. Bloody hell, they’re good! My bag was exactly where I left it when I got to where I was going, every time. I know it’s held firmly in place because when I swung a leg over and caught the top of the bag… I lost!

  • The Bear

I have been using these and the piggyback version for what feels like ever. I started when a medical mate of mine told me that occy straps are the major cause of "de-osculations" in Australia. That's right, they take your eyes out. Once I began to use them I discovered many more advantages. I recently and foolishly defaulted back to occys on a trip and nearly lost my camera case. Do yourself a favour and get some.

50+ years on motorbikes These are unequivocally the best cargo straps I've ever used
