Soft Pannier, Saddle Bag system for the 2017 onward, Suzuki V Strom

This system was developed on Andy's bike, The Bumblewee.
Fits both the 650 and 1000 all models from 2017 onwards.
Weighing in at a grand total of 3.7 Kg, yep that's bags, frames and fittings; the lot!
A set of hard box frames often weight in at 5 to 6kg alone!
Using our proven heavy canvas Traveller Pannierz, we are able to get the right hand bag above the muffler to make the package very narrow. Just what Adventure bike luggage needs to be.
Our frame design approach is to create a somewhat sacrificial but strong frame that is quick to remove and refit. It should be strong enough to take "garden variety" falls and bend back in shape on a bigger prang. A pannier frame set should not risk damaging the bike's subframe.

Why Liners?
Not only does it make a waterproof system but allows the contents of the bags to be removed without fiddling with the panniers.

Sorry it gets a bit complicated, sort of.
To simplify, to use our system you need the right bag to be a Traveller, choose a matched set or an Avduro on the left.
Quite a few riders already have a set of our bags. They need to mix and match old and new to get set up on a new bike.
Frames - 2 mild steel, satin black powder coated frames, spacers and bolts. Required, purchased separately.
Choose between
Traveller Pannier set - Left and Right bags, 6 attachment straps, 2 memory foam rear pads (optional parts) for bikes that need body work protection. Travellers can be used on many different bikes. This might sway your decision. Total max usable volume 50 litres. More info here

Asymmetrical Pannier Set - An Avduro pannier on the left (max 35l useable) and Traveller on the right. All Avduro straps sewn to bag. Traveller straps has separate attachment straps. Total max usable volume 60 litres.

Right Hand Bag only (RHS) - If you already have a set of our panniers and want to use them on a new V Strom. Just buy the RHS Bag and use your existing left pannier. You will of course, need the frame set too.
Made in Australia to the highest standards, meeting Military specs, CS12 T/S (tear stop) is 100% Corespun. This ensures that the fabric is suitable for any situation where great strength is required.
Tear Resistance: WARP – 250N, (AS 2001.2.10) and WEFT – 190N via a polyester ripstop thread
Breaking Force: WARP – 3200N, (AS 2001.2.3) and WEFT – 2870N
Hydrostatic Head: 800mm min, (AS 2001.2.17)
Unlike coated fabrics after weaving the thread into cloth our supplier immerses it in their chemical formula and then squeeze it through the actual threads deep into the fabric. This makes it waterproof and breathable. Specially treated to resist mold and mildew.
The Bumblewee, my DL650 XT is set up just as I want it now.
I've tried to find a balance between keeping it road touring friendly and gravel road capable. A bike like this is never gonna be a single track screamer, it's not designed for that but it did need a bit of 'Rallying Up'.
This was a long term ownership planning exercise.

How's your German?
I have spent weeks researching the best luggage system for my V-STROM. In the end I ordered this set from Andy. The frames bolted straight up and aligned from the box. I was a little unsure of the best method to install the soft panniers, but followed the clear instructions and they fit perfectly with the under seat straps taking the load. The quality of all the parts are 5 star. I’m well impressed.
Ordered the pannier racks for my 2021 Vstrom 650. Very quick delivery and a great price. As well as that they are a great local product using Aussie sourced steel. Thanks heaps. Regards Andrew.
